We were talked through about our first individual assessment of the term. We could design any type of installation we wanted, be it on a brand or campaign or something of our own creation.

I have always had a soft spot when it came to fine arts, hence I figure you know…..why not? Make my own concept and installation?

I asked multiple times because here was my time to pursue my little passion in fine arts. Definitely was excited to see what I would make.

ART CONCEPT:

  • Sensuality is the expression, enjoyment and pursuit of physical pleasure of the senses.
  • Sensuality is flickering, wavering, something that happens during a moment one experiences with another.
  • The idea of sensuality is widely romanticised through media, through literature, through various mediums.
  • This takes away its meaning of being a moment and rather a confession or milestone towards love.
  • I want to reintroduce or remind people that it is a special moment or experience you share with someone, however it is fleeting and lingers in that moment.

THE INSTALLATION:

Sketch 1
Sketch 2

•This piece will consist of different screens playing scenes (moments) of sensuality.

•A close up of two people kissing, wherein you can see the exchange of saliva

•A close up on a finger tracing skin, looking at the way the body reacts to the pressure

•A close up of two people sleeping with each other, watching their bodies slowly move as they breathe.

•The audience will watch from a distance but as they get closer, using a sensory reactor, the screen will flicker like a flame.

•The flickering will increase as the audience gets closer and closer to the screen but stabilize when the audience moves away.

  • We wanted to use audio of the sounds of the people on the screen.
  • The audience could possible wear headphones as they pass each screen to be more immersed in the piece.
  • The pieces will be placed in a hallway type room with limited light coming only from the screens.
  • It will be screened on a moderately large screen, projector screen size for reference.
  • Motion sensor detectors will be placed on top of the screen to detect movement of the audience whenever they come closer to the screen and when they move farther from the screen.

ARTIST IMPRESSION:

Well thats that…in a nutshell…..hahaha….

Right sooooo, hahaha didn’t know there was a limit to how many stories can be published in a day. So guess the rest is going to be crammed in here.

Week 4

Presentation day.

Boy wasn’t I nervous, I had started second guessing myself if I had maybe pushed the limit or went out of hand. Especially after seeing everyone else’s presentations which were on brands they had chosen.

I was out here with my fine arts, big (conceptual) brain, piece.

I was told that I had probably picked the wrong course……fair enough.

The presentation went pretty well and I was even complimented by how passionate I was as I presented it *blush*.

Naturally there were changes that could have been made in regards to the layout of the installation and if I could structure it in a more intimate and personal way. In the long run I was very satisfied.

Guess we’re gonna have another segment of Zoya’s PPT Obsession:

Week 5

Probably my favourite week

We were introduced to the Makey Makey

The Makey Makey

This incredible creation made probably by bored engineering majors.

I would rather show than explain what can be made by this god sent innovation.

Hope you enjoyed that segment.

Week 6 — Week 7

Assessment 2 progress

Promo Video
Work Process Speed Through

Overall I was pretty happy with our prototype. Dante really saved us by some how figuring out how to work the program. I didn’t have a big enough brain to understand how touchdesigner worked.

Week 8 — week 15

Assessment 3 process

Another one of my PPT segments
Promo Video 2

This one proved to be quite difficult to figure out initially and honestly hats off to Dante for figuring out how to program it as it was heavily reliant on that aspect.

Im pretty proud of the both of us and am pretty satisfied with what we both created.

Definitely an incredible module!!
